BLUE LIGHTS BEFORE THE BURN
Saw the flash it burned too blue
Not the kind the thunder threw
No storm cry no rain was due
But the silence cracked straight through
The birds went still the dogs went low
The air pulled tight refused to blow
And when the blaze began to rise
It moved too fast for open skies
Blue light before the burn
No time to brace no time to turn
They said it wild they said it chance
But fire dont move in a soldiers stance
The roofs stayed blue untouched intact
While everything else just faded black
Metal curled the trees went blind
But no one asked no one assigned
They flew too low the sky too lined
The grid was drawn the light too timed
And afterward they claimed no fault
Just weather words and a lightning vault
Left right left
Left right left
Skys too clean
And no ones left
Blue light before the burn
No one warned no one learned
If this was chance its too precise
We count the smoke not the price
I used to name the clouds out loud
Now I just watch
And walk
And bow
Left right
Left
