JOYBOX INCIDENT
We climbed to the roof cause the house was too loud
And we needed some secrets away from the crowd
The box wasn't mine it belonged to her mom
Tucked in a tote behind scented lip balm
We popped the lid and blinked at the stash
A tangle of gadgets with chrome and flash
We laughed like rebels flushed and bold
Until patrol beams turned playful cold
The joybox incident swept under the rug
I claimed a ripstick and played it smug
But the bruises told a louder tale
Of rooftops gadgets and moral fail
The joybox incident still not in the file
But my arm sure remembers that fall with style
From giggles to panic in half a beat
With rubber secrets and fast retreat
I ditched the box in a neighbors pot
Swore I fell cause the wheels got caught
But the truth hummed loud behind my lie
A rooftop crime with toys that sigh
They weren't for kids not by design
And I still don't know what half could align
I broke my elbow not my pride
And told the story the safe way inside
Could've told my mother but nope not me
I held that lie like classified debris
She bought the story I iced the bone
While battery guilt buzzed low and alone
Fight back incident I got away clean
With nothing but shame and a bruised routine
Let this be a warning to future recruits
Don't take to the roof with civilian salutes
The joybox incident you heard it from me
The box was electric the fall was free
And somewhere in storage collecting dust
Lies a little pink secret and adolescent trust
